NYC

OH GOSH what can I say our trip to NYC was so fun! We had a wonderful time and did a lot in the little time we had. We first started our trip off with some pizza in Queens, a friend of the family (Tato) picked us up and took us there. He also drove us around to Times Square, Macy's store and then we walked around the area. The next morning we went to the Macy's Day Parade, the wait was LONG and COLD! We were bundled up but it was still cold we went numb, I believe the weather was about 35 degrees. We got there at about 7:30 am and the parade didn't start until 9. The parade was fun and had a few famous people there i.e. Hanna Montana, Trace Adkins.

We then went to see if we could find a show to watch, which we were able to get tickets for the Rockettes. We got awesome seats and the show was GREAT! Although Brandy did fall asleep that I had to nudge her. After being in the cold all morning long, having a nice full lunch, moving into a nice cozy theatre and having a glass of champagne it was completely understandable why Brandy's head was almost to her knees. Thereafter, we went to the Empire State Building and ended the night with having our Thanksgiving dinner at the nearest restaurant possible since we were so exhausted from standing all morning.

On Friday, Debbie, my mom and I got up early and went to the Statue of Liberty (Brandy was beat and couldn't get up). We were on the first ferry out within 30 minutes from getting there. To our pleasant surprise when we got back to Liberty State Park the line to get to the Statue of Liberty was extremely long at least a 3-4 hour wait! We then went to Ground Zero, but everything was closed off and we couldn't see much of the construction site. So we then went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I was able to see works of Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Matisse, Rembrandt and others that are not as well known. HUGE museum we only stayed there for about 1 hour 1/2. After that we went to Central Park, Dylan's Candy Store had some delicious shakes, then FAO Schwarz (saw the famous piano) and on to go see Mary Poppins at the Amsterdam Theatre. We had dinner from a street vendor and the hot dogs weren't great (for Brandy and mom). Debbie and I had chicken on a stick and those were good!

Saturday morning we went to Chinatown and Little Italy. Gosh was that an adventure. We laughed A TON and had a GREAT TIME! Thank goodness for a great comfy room. Our room was a corner room with windows on both sides facing downtown area and the other window facing the Hudson River.

Sold!

We were able to sell my car! HURRAY! The new owner is a 16 year old girl......I hope she loves the car as much as I did. It sure did take me ALL over Texas. We were a bit concerned since we'd been advertising it for about 1 month, no one really was interested once they heard how many miles my car had. :( BUT Thankfully someone called, heard about it and was still interested. We knew once whomever saw the car they would really like it, since it was in such good shape. A few dinks on the exterior but overall a great buy!
