Merry Christmas!

Amelia on Christmas Eve.  She looks so grown up. :(

We spent Christmas in Amarillo and to my surprise we woke up on Christmas morning to a light blanket of snow! It was sooo great! It snowed all day, we stayed at the house all day and had the fire going.  My mom made Abuelita hot chocolate with a big fat marshmallow.....I couldn't have asked for better weather!

Ho Ho Ho!

Angie, Rosemary, Amelia and I had our 5th annual shopping day at a mall.  We just spend the day at the mall.  We started over in Frisco but moved down to Northpark, which is lots of fun because we have the restuarants to hang out at and then there are activities all day long with singers, puppet shows and this time we started the day with going to Santa.  Amelia did great! No crying just a little unsure.

Our first Christmas tree in the house! I usually decorate but no tree. Now that Amelia is excited about the lights it's more fun!

Happy 2nd Birthday!

Amelia turned 2 years old on September 29th.  We celebrated her birthday at the Don Harrington Discovery Center in Amarillo.  We had many friends and our families come.  We had a great time!  The tri-state fair was in town at the time and we also went to the fair.  We had Amelia ride all the rides that she was able to for her height.

Finally Friends!

Bonnie and I took the girls to go see the mini horses on Saturday and to our surprise the Fort Worth Music Festival was going on at the same time right next door.  We took the girls over there and we sat and listened to some jazz.  The weather was just perfect! Music was great and the girls were playing together for the first time! It was really exciting since in the past they wouldn't even interact with each other and if they did it wasn't a nice interaction hehe!


The video is maybe about 10 seconds too long but at least the music is enjoyable!

Wine Country

I went on a girls weekend to San Francisco with Rosemary and Angie! We had a grand ole time to say the least! We visited Napa via limo and Sonoma via shuttle on two different days.  We stayed in Fisherman's Wharf which was great since it was in the middle of everything.

My Birthday Weekend....

We spent the night at the Hideaway Ranch near Glen Rose, Texas it was so nice and sooo relaxing.  We stayed up late to sit out on the deck and look at the stars while sitting in the hot tub.  It was so nice!  It was a great birthday! Matt made it even extra special by getting me a computer.  I've been needing a new computer for a while now since mine crashed a few months ago.  Attached is my first quick trial of doing a video out of photos of our weekend.

World at Your Fingertips

Amelia got some first class mail yesterday! Her passport! You're wondering where are you guys going? Well, we don't have that planned out right now BUT we may go somewhere and we just want to be ready if the situation occurs!  Matt has to go to Canada soon and I told him we'd join him, he's hesitant about us going since it would be his first business trip so most likely we'll be staying around but at least we now have the option to go.


Just an update...I've not been updating my blog because my computer crashed......BOO! So, to my semi-surprise Matt bought me a new computer for my birthday! I don't know how to use it all that well, but I have classes lined up.  I'll be updating my blog more often now! AND I'll be learning to use the video feature on this thing!

A New Do!

On Friday, we took Amelia for a haircut. It will be her 4th haircut with Amy and we really like her. I had told Amy that I'd been wanting to grow out her bangs so that's the reason that Amelia's hairstyle has been pretty much the same one ponytail to the side because that's what would capture most of her hair so it wouldn't be covering her eyes.

Here is her new do.....it's a little bob and it looks so cute if I say so myself! Her bangs are still not long enough but they are getting there.

Amelia is 22 1/2 months old! She's getting a bit feisty but still very sweet. She will continue doing her swim classes this semester. It will be her first swim class without momma in the pool. She still loves her fruits and veggies....oh and her "mo." She will be turning the wonderful 2 next month! We will be celebrating her birthday in Amarillo with family and friends.

Happy 4th of July!

Yes I know I'm a little late BUT better late than never right? We went to the Southlake fireworks on July 3rd and had a pretty good time. Amelia SEMI enjoyed the fireworks. I bought her a sword that lit up and she was more excited about that than the fireworks!

Being Brave

Today I decided to take Millie for a haircut along with Amelia! Yeap I took a risk by taking a 20 month old around dogs, the risk of her throwing a tantrum because she wants whatever it is that she wants plus I wasn't sure if the place was going to allow Amelia in. We got there I walked in with the two in tow and set myself up at a table. The lady didn't say anything but "apparently you're not new to this, what size clipper would you like?" hehe! "7 please"and as soon as the first clump of hair fell out Amelia was very interested. We were there for just 1 1/2 hours! First time I did this alone with Millie it took me 2 hours so 1 1/2 hours is good! Normally, it takes just me with Millie 1 hour.

Late Easter Pic and More

On Good Friday we went to church for the Easter Egg hunt. We had a great time with watching Amelia going on an egg hunt for the first time. She was suprisingly good! The children's minister had them sit down before the egg hunt and he told them what Easter was about. It was my favorite part of the day.

Today is mother's day and I TRIED to take some pics of Amelia but she wasn't cooperating same with Easter day. I had her in her very pretty dresses but she just didn't want to get pics done.

The Cherry Blossoms!

I went to Washington D.C. at the beginning of the month.....I stayed with Brandy on Friday and we spent the night in D.C. on Saturday. We walked so much, just visited the city and best of all I was able to see the infamous cherry blossoms! My favorite part of this trip was going to Arlington National Cemetery, although I was there for a conference for work. I met up with a co-worker of mine that works out of Georgia and we went into the city on Monday night. She'd never been so needless to say she had a really good time.

Brandy lives near D.C. and Catherine has been there at least a handful of times yet I was the tourguide??? Something is wrong with that! HEHE!

Having Fun in the Yard

Amelia and I go on walks in the neighborhood often. Since the weather has been nice she's loving being outside. I ask her "do you want to go outside?" she walks to the door and turns around and slowly waves bye to Matt. She loves going out walking.

Spring is Here!

I just love seeing my tulips sprout out the ground! I FINALLY planted some in September and seeing them come out is so great! I love the way they add color to our yard!

An Authentic CHEEEEEESE!

OH AMELIA!!! On Saturday, we got home from the birthday party and I caught her smack in the middle of her saying "CHEESE" straight at the camera! She looks so cute (of course I'm her momma). I was able to get her hair in TWO pigtails.....slowly her hair is growing enough for pigtails!

Diving

Last semester Amelia was taught to raise her arms as if she were diving into the pool. She's now doing this but she's having a hard time "diving" in standing up, so we are just practicing the sitting dives. She's doing great and as always is loving the classes!

Cowgirl in the Making

We took Amelia to the Fort Worth Stock show for the 2nd year in a row. Last year she was only 3 months old and this time she was 15 months old. We took her to the petting zoo and then we went to see Iceman! He's covered up because the stalls were a bit chilly for him. We saw Bruce give him a horse "pedicure" it was fun! Unfortunately, we didn't see him compete.

Swimming Without Momma

So here is the first time that Amelia and her classmates are without parents in the pool. Luckily, no one cried. I'm sure if one cries the others will join in! They are all so cute! Amelia is the one in the blue bathing suit and goggles.

First Pedicure

So Rick gave Amelia her first pedicure at the jewelry party. She sat still and he even put a flower on her big toes! She's so funny when we got home I asked Matt to wait a second before he took her out of her carseat. I asked her "will you show dad what you got?" I asked her again "Can you show your dad what you got?" and she lifted her foot up to show Matt her freshly painted toes! hehe! They are purple with glitter.

Snow Day!

Today my intentions were good......go to work! I was planning on getting on the road early but then thought "IF Penney doesn't show up then what will Matt do?" He had an interview scheduled for 10:30, had to get on the road early so he wouldn't be late. So I decided to stay and wait for Penney. Penney couldn't get her car doors open so she couldn't come. It's now 2:15 in the afternoon and I haven't heard from Matt. It's almost been a 4 hour interview! Here is what Amelia and Millie were doing this morning....Millie wanted to go out but the door was frozen shut and Amelia was just looking at the snow through Millie's dog window.

The Sweetest Hugs

By far the sweetest hugs and kisses I've received are from Amelia! Her hugs are the sweetest ever! On Saturday night Amelia wasn't feeling well so we let her sleep with us. She woke up on Sunday morning, I pretended to be asleep so I watched her as she sat up and reached over hugged Matt and gave him a kiss on his cheek then she came to me and kissed my cheek. It was the sweetest thing. Over the weekend she was just being a super sweetheart! Here she is hugging on Matt.

Horse Visit

We took Amelia over to the Giles during our Christmas break! I was excited to see how she'd react to the miniature horses and she was just indifferent. (Note that these horses are pretty much full grown). She liked looking at all the different ones. Trish and Bruce also got her a rocking horse for Christmas that she really enjoys rocking in but is too short to climb it, but I'm sure she will in time!

We went to her 15 month check up yesterday and she's measuring great! Her weight is in the 50th, her height is in the 90th and her head ........100th!
