Millie and Charlie

So I was getting ready to leave Kelly and Brandy's after a semi-friendly dog visit (Millie snapped at Leo a few times). Kelly had 6 dogs in the home (2 fosters) so I thought it was a good idea to take Millie over for some socializing. I had put the leash on Millie so we could go, I started talking so I dropped the leash. Later on I look down since I heard some growling and Charlie had gotten a hold of the leash and was tugging on it. My poor Millie was being pulled around but it was just soooo funny! I was in tears!

Heartbeat!

OH! What a day! The day I've been anticipating for over 1 month probably! Today Matt and I heard our baby's heartbeat! AND we saw "him" and got pics......Yeap! We're going to have a baby and the due date is September 28, 2009.

We are both very excited! Reality set in TODAY, we finally heard and saw the baby. Overall, I hadn't had "real" symptoms. I feel great and all has been good.

I had my suspicions of being pregnant back on January 11th week, took a pregnancy test that read positive on January 17th and confirmed it by the doctor on January 26th. Our first OB visit wasn't until February 4th.

My Photos

I haven't had an eventful month. I'm trying to update the blog once a month AT LEAST....so bear with me. I really enjoy reading everyone else's blog so that's the reason I'm trying to keep up. I am attaching a picture that I took at some gardens here in Fort Worth. I love photography and need to take more time in practicing with my camera. I'll be posting again later this week.....so stay tuned! HEHEE! Most likely sharing pics that I've taken of random items. As for us, nothing too exciting as of right now. Matt is taking 17 hours and I'm taking on a new project at work, so I really hope that it's a new challenge for me. Definitely need a new challenge!

Floyd Update

Millie did well with Floyd....she just snapped at him about 3 times. He was sooo calm! He didn't play or do much of anything. He was VERY well behaved but not wild enough for our family....heheee.....Millie is a NUT comparing to him! HEHEE We love our nut! Fortunately, "Floyd's" real name is Auggie and his parents were found! After 1 week! We were given a reward and it is going to the Kelly Saves Dogs Fund.

Hog and Sweater

Here's Millie meeting Polly. The hog lives out in the country where Matt's dad has some land. Millie enjoyed it except she got into plenty of stickers!

Well Trish seems to shower Millie with gifts, this time she got her a sweater. I got home and Matt was putting it on her. She's so funny because she pretty much allows us to put clothes on her. Unfortunately, the sweater was too big. Tomorrow we plan on bringing home Floyd, a foster dog. Millie doesn't play well with others so we'll see how she does. Anyone interested in a dog???

ALL DONE!

Floors are all done as of January 2nd. Matt did a great job and it sure was some tough work! I helped with the grout and that was tough, he did most of it all alone!

HURRAY! for NEW FLOORS!

So this is the time of year that Matt and I both get long breaks (from school/work) and so it's a perfect opportunity for house projects.
In 2007, Matt redid the living room and hallway by removing the popcorn ceiling, retexturing a wall to make it into an accent wall, retextured the hallway, new fixtures and painted the living room. Definitely a huge challenge since our living room ceiling is about 15 feet high.... he worked SUPER hard and did a GREAT job (as always).
In 2008, Matt is working on re-tiling the floors in the kitchen, entry way and laundry room. He started by removing the linoleum (yuck)! Currently he's laying out the tile. The tile is just going to change the whole look of the area. We're so excited! Unfortunately, I'm not much help this time. We plan to leave in about 3 days to Amarillo. We hope to have most of the project done by then. 2009 project MASTER BATH!
